 Hi, I’m JR.

I believe there are 4 things that come together to create a great photograph.

Vision / planning- the what, where, and the how. Together we’ll find the right location and make sure we get the best shots.

Spontaneity / flexibility- taking advantage of what opportunities are becoming available at that moment to create something unique. Not letting “the plan” hold us down!

Chemistry / passion- the magic you bring to your engagement or wedding day, capturing the spark of joy and love that brought you both together in the first place.

Luck- weather, light, the unknown. Like a rain storm in the distance, or a beautiful beam of light peeking out from behind a mountain.

Photography to me is a bit like a magic trick, and the photographer is the magician. Yet in the end, what you see isn’t an illusion. Instead, the result is a frozen sliver of time that you can constantly come back to. Like the moment after just a kiss, a well-timed photograph can hold you in that place of bliss. 

In my photography, I look for the magic that already exists around us and in us. That’s one of the reasons I prefer shooting outdoors, to let the beauty of nature guide us and create a relaxing feel for our session. I want to hear the story of how you met or fell in love to help authentically capture your connection.
